Adamsberg and Mathieu know that the gamekeeper was the victim of a serial killer. They still have to discover the motive of the psychopath if they want to give themselves a chance to apprehend him before he can harm again by committing more crimes. It appears that the key to the enigma is to be found in the folklore of the region. To immerse himself in the murderer's state of mind, Adamsberg begins to meditate, lying on a dolmen, hoping that the old stones, full of history and magic, will provide him with the answers to his questions. It could well be granted with an intuition that seems to come from elsewhere.
