Delegating the entire operation to the incompotent Lord Percy, he suspects he might be in trouble when the Queen pardons a prisoner that has already been executed.

While always portraying himself as fabulously wealthy, Blackadder is in fact totally broke, and so he needs to find a way to make money very quickly.... or find something that the Monks like more than money.

    ChainsFollowing a spate of kidnappings, Queen Elizabeth declares that she will no longer pay the perpetrators their ransom demands. Almost immediately, Edmund Blackadder and Lord Melchett are kidnapped by the demented German spy Ludwig, who may have more on his mind than just money. Knowing that the Queen will not pay for their release, Blackadder and Melchett must outwit their half-wit captors in order to escape.
