S2 • E38 Dec 11, 2001 43mWith the screenplay by Tonio Carvalho and Fernando Rebello, the episode shows the story of the birth of the Baby Jesus in a picturesque way, approaching the subject with the allegorical touch of northeastern folklore. Boi Surubim (Eduardo Moscovis) gathers the residents to tell that the Baby Jesus had fled from heaven to earth, and that he is somewhere nearby. The people struggle, but they believe, and they all go looking for the Child. Representatives of heaven and hell come to join the search, the Archangel Gabriel (Zezé Polessa) and Beelzebub (Vera Holtz) want to take him with them anyway. Poor Ox who will have to do his best to keep the secret. Meanwhile, Maria (Camila Pitanga) is about to give birth and the Ox advises José (Leonardo Brício) to take her to have her son away in the mountains. On the way, a blind man (Chico Anysio) appears to ask for help. Man is God in disguise, who came to earth to ensure that no harm comes to pass and that balance is restored.
