Breaking Ground, a Take Care docuseries, follows four young Asian Canadians on their journey to positive mental health. They unpack and confront the cultural, language, and generational barriers in their lives as they forge a path for others to follow. In an era where anti-Asian discrimination is a pressing issue, Breaking Ground hopes to facilitate thoughtful conversation about the visibility of being Asian.

Growing up Ty experienced discrimination and racism. They discovered burlesque as a form of expression and created their alter ego, Tygr Willy. Through the power of community and performance , Ty balances these identities in a world that pushes labels.

    Brittany Nguyen - Being Authentically AsianBrittany Nguyen (she/her) is a Vietnamese filmmaker from Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario. Brittany's mother was her connection to her Vietnamese roots and to her extended family. After losing her mother to cancer before graduating high school, that was severed . Now, as she tries to make a reconnection, she reflects on what it really means to be "authentically" Asian.
