Buck convinces Elias to sacrifice his Guam safe points to test if they can activate his communicator. It seems to fail as Eli expected, but Buck jumps out of bath nude when it springs to life, and indeed they can now control tech crew-mate Jim and fight Malmek's Karpian invaders. Hanne wins dance festival tickets thanks to duly jealous sister Laura, the genre fan. Elias having proven his console can also (des)activate Buck, the family finally agrees it's the knave's alien pet for keeps without alternative.
