Traffic police officers call Volkov to investigate a fatal car accident involving a young prostitute. However, there are no witnesses nor surveillance cameras found near the scene of the tragedy. This fact seriously complicates the investigation. Meanwhile, a well-known repeat offender nicknamed Skunk is killed in an explosion in an abandoned warehouse. With help of his informer Samokhin, Tarabrin discovers that Skunk worked for the famous blackmailer Lyova Kandyba.
