While visiting Tamar's uncle, Zakharzhevskaya does everything to please the old collector, and achieves the goal. In the KGB, Ivan finds out that he was summoned because of the writer Zolotoryov, who asked for political asylum in Switzerland. The case is led by Lieutenant-Colonel Kovalev, the first love of Tanya Larina. Cleverly using the discord between Ivan and Tanya, Kovalev inclines Vanya to cooperate with the authorities. Successfully fulfilling the task of Sherov, Tanya-Lada becomes a member of the old antiquarian's house.
