Disgraced former cop Gary Beck is executed at his mother's funeral but the subsequent follow-up investigation points to the intended target as Terry Jarvis. Terry is given round the clock surveillance after another attempt is made on his life. Duncan is given part of the surveillance but will he be able to protect Jarvis effectively due his past conflict with him over this deceased wife Claire.
