Reluctant heir to the family company Oliver Franco is forced to assume its leadership. Though he has good intentions, members of his company - including his wife, Natalia - profit off of shady practices that contaminate the river in Leonor Fernández's hometown. Determined to bring down Franco Industries, Leonor writes her dissertation on the effects of the company amongst the local population, gaining Franco Industries as her enemy. When Oliver and Leonor's paths cross, Leonor is able to show Oliver the effect his company is having and recruit his help. It's a race against time, duty, and love that they'll only be able to win by going against the tide.
