Len tells Elsie he believes her when she says there was nothing going on between Dave and her. Stan and Hilda ask Ken's advice about the tax demand. Ken is appalled at the size of their problem, even though it's just an assessment. He tells Stan that he can appeal against it and the Inland Revenue will probably reduce the sum claimed. Stan doesn't want Ken seeing his financial affairs and spurns his further help.
