To please her Suzie decides to clean her soot-filled chimney with a brick. Len receives an invite to Stanley Fairclough's wedding. Rita tells him she'd like to go with him. He tells her how Stanley doesn't really want him to go. Suzie drops the brick down the wrong chimney and covers the Ogdens' parlour, and the Ogdens themselves, in soot.
