Reg gives Vera the job and Curly fears she'll be no good and he'll be responsible. Alan moves into a bedsit at 31 Redford Street and tries to interest Maurice in backing an alarm business. However, Maurice is not interested. Dawn tells Audrey the docklands are starting a new phase. Audrey is keen to buy one of the flats. She shows the McDonalds round the house and Alf is horrified when they agree to buy it.
