Thanks to an editor who rehired Jeff, he and Skye found the way and get in to a hardcore Cult fans party. There they too must form a couple imitating Billy and Kelly, dancing and kissing, and she's custom-drugged. They find the unhelpful police detective Sakelik there, apparently close with Billy, and get a warning from Nate he's alive but fears for their safety unless they stop seeking him.
