Trey can't fathom the importance of fatherhood, at least not until he's faced with an imminent eleven-year prison sentence. Jameelah, the mother of their three-year-old son, must suddenly deal with the immense struggles of being a single parent now that Trey is locked up. And at the same time, their young boy, Kiddo, is forced to deal with the emotional baggage that comes with his father's prolonged absence. Over time, Kiddo matures. He learns to see the world in his own light, and he ultimately decides he doesn't want anything to do with his incarcerated father. But upon his release from prison, Trey is a new man. He is brutally determined to prove his worth to his son. Unfortunately, gaining Kiddo's trust back will be one of the hardest things Trey has ever done.
