Back in the Netherlands Anouk Hoeksema struggles with her conscience when she finds out that her grandfather, captain of the Van Imhoff, lied under oath about the disaster in 1942. Dick Verkijk, whose film was banned in 1965, finally learns that there was a conspiracy to cover up the story of the Van Imhoff, involving even the Dutch government.
