In Denmark, we have made a choice: We do not put mentally disabled criminals in prison. No matter what they have done. Instead, they are sentenced to treatment, and the most dangerous end up at the secured institution Kofoedsminde on Lolland. The arsonist Tim has lived at Kofoedsminde for the past 6 years because his mental examination showed that he was developmentally disabled. 24-year-old Marco, on the other hand, believes that he is in the wrong place, and fights to maintain hope for a life outside the fence. Kristian Almblad is also involved when a group of residents - manned by staff - meet across the secured wards to watch the European Championship in football.
