Episode 3Des showcases the UK TV debut of American comedians Elayne Boosler and Dale Gonyea, as well as chatting to Norman Wisdom. Norman gets to demonstrate his talents as singer and clarinettist, and is challenged to tell a joke without laughing.

Episode 4Ronnie Corbett makes his chat show debut, and is challenged by Des to tell a joke without straying from the point. Also providing humour is US comedian Kip Addotta, while there's music from banjo player Carl Jackson.

Episode 5Des finds his role of interviewer redundant as Frankie Howerd guests on the sofa, not letting Des get a word in, and telling him "Don't try and hog the show!" Also appearing are singer Patti Boulaye and established US comedian John Byner.

Episode 6"I've just laughed so much I've split my pants!" Des tells Harry Secombe, before insisting on showing everyone the evidence. Also on the show is the debut of American comedian Skip Stephenson, and musical impressions from Karen Kay.
