The news arrives that Carmine Tonnara, convicted of mafia, has died in prison. His father Vito Tonnara swears revenge on his son's grave against the architect of his conviction: Commissioner Giovanna Scalise. It is a new threat that looms over our protagonist just when it seems that a new life is beginning for her thanks to her love story with Inspector Walter Manrico, which Giovanna confesses only to her mother.
The mechanic Lorenzi gives two criminals the codes of the anti-theft devices he installs on cars on behalf of a dealership: he needs money to treat his wife who has a serious heart condition. A stolen car hits a girl in front of a homeless man. The rush to the hospital turns out to be useless, but Elisa, who is registered as a donor, can save another life. With her parents' consent, her heart is removed and fate has it that it is Lorenzi's wife, who has been waiting for years for a new heart.
