A heart surgeon performs a major open-heart surgery on Silja, 60. Silja is scared of the operation, but the doctor comforts her by saying he is aiming for a result she would dare to leave behind. Hannu, 67, is rehabilitating himself after the problems of brain surgery. His wife encourages him to move on and not to dwell on the past.
