When preparing tools for the next season, Alfred cuts his thumb. At first it doesn't look too bad but in a few days, the cut is infected, and Alfred is very sick. A severe snow storm is blowing making Katthult farm isolated and in the middle of the night, Emil get his horse Lukas and a sleigh to try to take Alfred to the doctor in Mariannelund.
