But the planned celebration is soured when Gloria visits the pawnshop to buy a present and finds out that Eric ripped her off over the necklace that drove her to a suicide attempt. Viv becomes suspicious of Bob when Roger Crosby, an old salesman friend of his arrives and Bob is less than eager to have him discuss his past in front of his wife. Bernice and Carlos continue to play dangerously and arrange a secret liaison at the vicarage while Ashley is away. Elsewhere, Charity turns down a dinner with Chris in favour of Zoe, while Carol enlists some help to find the source of a foul smell in the B&B.
