Although both are relieved, they're reminded of the seriousness of Jackson's disability and his absolute helplessness. Jerry arrives at the hospital and offers Hazel a cheque to help with the costs, but it's not much and tempers flare up again. The pair eventually call a truce, but Hazel is still worried about affording accommodation until Declan kindly offers to let her have Dale Head at a token rent.
