The Appleby is sent on a mission to the Arctic to test some new hull paint for durability in the cold. The crew gets bored having to stay inside the ship for so long which leads to fighting. Ensign O'Toole gets the crew to work on handicrafts to relieve the boredom. One crewman's craft puts the whole ship on red alert.
