The Appleby receives a request for help from two U.S. soldiers on a small Pacific island who claim they are under fire by Japanese troops. When the Appleby arrives to investigate, her crew finds two U.S. and two Japanese soldiers on the island who think World War II is still underway and are still fighting each other — but it is 1962, and World War II has been over since 1945.
