The Mustang Kingdom is mysterious and remote. Formally known as the Kingdom of Lo, the region was once part of Tibet, and then became part of Nepal in the 1950s. It remained an independent part of Nepal until 2008. Between that time few tourists had ventured through his high altitude desert.
