The full-hour adaptation of the past season's Broadway thriller concerns the misguided intentions of a young scientist—the traitor —to solve the threat of an atomic war by giving nuclear energy secrets to a Russian spy ring. The youth, Wesley Addy, feels that world peace lies in sharing the atomic bomb. The main scene of the play is laid in the Manhattan apartment of Professor Tobias Emanuel, the young man's mentor, played by Hampden. Addy has hidden bomb secrets and fissionable material for the Russians in the apartment when Captain Gallagher of the Naval Intelligence Office, portrayed by Tracy, steps in, One of the exciting sequences comes when Gallagher uses a Geiger counter to spot the cache
