When the British and Chinese Governments agreed 13 years ago on this handover, Britain promised the people of Hong Kong a parting gift, democracy and the Chines promised that Hong Kong's way of life would be kept in tact for 50 years. The history of how these promises were made and broken are the subject of this program.
