This program tells the story of Markus Wolf, the former Head of the East German Intelligence Service and his methods of recruiting young women in the West to spy and betray their country. Over 80 young women were recruited by "Romeo" spies and they passed on secrets in exchange for romance. Three of these women, Gabriele Gast, Dagmar Shroler and Gerda Ostenreider are the subject of this program. All three were imprisoned, but Markus Wolf and other Romeo spies walked free.
