Gunshots ring out while I-hsin visits KK, and everyone spends a tense night under his roof. I-hsin secures the pricing intelligence and undercuts the competition with a massive order, but the tea elders condemn her for undercutting the market. Stripped of his fertilizer plant, KK refuses to remain a mere translator and begins teaching farmers directly — until the Americans order him to abandon fertilizer altogether.
