The journey begins at the world-famous national symbol, the "Ayers Rock". On the way to "Alice Springs" are the "Uluru & Kata-Tjuta" National Park and the "Watarrka" National Park with the rugged "Kings Canyon". Darwin is the starting point for a tour of the "Lichfield" & "Kakadu" National Park. In North Queensland, Cairns is the gateway to the original rainforests around the Cape Tribulation and the colorful coral gardens of the Great Barrier Reef. In the "hinterland" the "Atherton Tablelands" rise as part of the "Great Diving Range". After "Fraser Island" and the "Whitsundays", the "Australia Zoo", the "Lamington" National Park and the party metropolis "Surfers Paradise" are visited around Brisbane, before reaching the easternmost point of the Australian continent at "Cape Byron".
