Daniel is going through a serious crisis. He is at his wit's end, shouts at his proteges and is afraid that his work will be too much; Ute Lorenz, Heiko's new teacher, appears at the Richters. She acts very mysteriously; Elke gets Hilde's job at the Classic Hotel; Walter Bornat brings Elisabeth Meinhart the joyful news that her book will soon be published. She is of the opinion that this is her school novel, but has to be taught otherwise. Bornat wants to publish "The Secret Child", a manuscript that Elisabeth has also given him. Apparently, he has the right to do so even against her will.
