S1 • E34 Sep 4, 2011 40mGou, who is concerned over the worsening relations between Ieyasu and Mitsunari, urges Ieyasu not to enter war with the Toyotomi family. Ieyasu, however, pretends ignorance by saying that the war is against the Uesugi family, and appoints Hidetada as the commander-in-chief. Although uncertain, Hidetada accepts his fate and prepares his troops for battle. In Osaka, Mitsunari rises up against Ieyasu, and takes the wives and children of those feudal lords who took side with Ieyasu as hostages. Tama, who was baptized and renamed as Gracia, is also regarded with hostility.
