S1 • E9 Jul 10, 1952 60mAs Meta prepares to leave New York City and Trudy, she tells a confused Trudy that she realized while speaking to Dr. Bruce Banning that she wants to hold by her original plan to leave to return to Los Angeles. Meanwhile back in Selby Flats Bert is trying to feed the new baby, Michael, as Papa holds the upper hand against Bill in a game of chess. Papa realizes Bill's mind is not in the game, but is on his problems with Gloria and Sid Harper and the advertising agency. Bill later tells Bert he will help with Michael's 5 pm feeding, while Bill is worried about his later 10 pm feeding. Papa also asks Bill if he plans to stay with Bert in Selby Flats or return to New York City to assist Gloria and Sid on the television show, and Bill says he has to make a visit to San Francisco to visit the client who funds the television show. The doorbell rings and Bill gets up from the chess game to see who is at the door.
