If history has taught us anything, it's the fact that makeup loves the cameras, and the cameras love good makeup. While the first films in the history of the entertainment industry weren't an indication of the significance of makeup, they did point to the fact that makeup was necessary. From the grease paint used by the silent greats to the unique work of Lon Chaney, the progression of makeup in film led to the creation of incredible characters.
