Left behind. Staller miserably loses his chase against a fleeing polluter. Completely out of breath, he has to admit to himself that he urgently needs to work on his stamina and immediately signs up for the "Springer and Springer" fitness studio. Ashamed of his fitness problems in front of his colleague Hubert, Staller conceals his registration at the club - until something terrible happens there of all places: employee Dennis Westermann is murdered. Hubert and Staller immediately begin investigating Westermann's environment. His partner, Mia Sperling, testifies that Westermann had spoken about problems at work before his death. But Joachim Springer, who runs the fitness studio together with his wife Bettina, claims to have known nothing about any difficulties at his company. Pathologist Dr. Anja Licht then informs the two police officers that the murder victim's brother, Boris Westermann, is currently in a coma and fighting for his life. He, too, was in and out of "Springer and Springer" because he had trained there as a bodybuilder. Staller takes advantage of his new club membership and takes a closer look at the studio undercover: He actually finds small bags that look suspiciously like illegal doping substances are circulating in the studio. He no longer rules out the possibility that these illegal activities could have something to do with the murder of Dennis Westermann. When Westermann's brother awakens from his coma and is able to give a statement, studio owner Joachim Springer and bodybuilder Hartmut Klein suddenly become the focus of the police. However, the alibi the two provide for the time of the crime is watertight.
