As Hubert and Staller patrol a modest residential area, an explosion suddenly disrupts their daily routine: A package appears to have exploded just as postman Peter Sendel was about to deliver it to its recipient. The recipient, Christine Aumann, survives with serious injuries. Postman Peter Sendel fares worse - he barely manages to whisper a final word, "Billy," to Hubert before dying on the way to the hospital. Yazid, the "all-round expert," is consulted and is able to determine from the remains of the parcel bomb that the explosion was triggered by a remote detonator. Hubert and Staller are certain: both victims were not accidentally hit. Since Christine Aumann is unresponsive, Peter Sendel's smartphone initially serves as their most important source of information. The phone conversation clearly shows: When it came to women, Peter Sendel was no stranger to romance. Volker Rohde, the postman's boss, also confirms this. Katja Kimmich and Yvonne Baum, both of whom do not deny having had affairs with Peter Sendel, quickly become the target of the investigation. However, the affairs ended long ago, and both women have an alibi. When Hubert and Staller visit Christine Aumann in the hospital, freshly awakened from a coma, another suspicion is dispelled: Christine's middle name is Sybille, and "Billy" is merely her nickname. When images from a post office's surveillance camera surface, they seriously undermine Yvonne Baum's alibi. At the same time, Katja Kimmich reports a mysterious break-in in which the perpetrator didn't steal anything but left behind materials needed to make explosives. When Riedl lands a lucky strike in terms of circumstantial evidence, Hubert and Staller are certain they can convict the sender of the deadly package using his own weapons.
