S2 • E1 Aug 7, 2015 30mTony Rossi, recently promoted to Global Head of Sales from the TC Toronto office, arrives for his first day of work at the TerraCycle's Global Headquarters in Trenton. He checks out his new desk and tries to make small talk with some of the TerraCycle staff. First days are always hard, and Tony wonders how he'll fit into his new surroundings. In the year since the launch of the Zero Waste program, sales have continued to climb. During a routine meeting with Tom, Dan and Rhandi update him on their ongoing successes with large businesses, but also their difficulties selling Zero Waste to medium-sized businesses. Tom suggests that Dan and Rhandi find a way to emphasize the marketing potential of the program, and they decide to try a "waste audit" as a potential solution for their sales problem. Rhandi and Dan meet with potential client Century Packaging, where they tour the facility and identify the most common waste streams. Back at the office, while trying to make friendly conversation with Stephen, Darshan, Rick, and Sara, Tony asks to join an upcoming trivia night. The group agrees to let him join. Dan heads to the lab with Mylar he found during the audit. After running some initial tests to make sure they has a recycling solution for it, Rick informs Dan that the material is recyclable and they can start collecting the material through Zero Waste. A few days later, Dan checks in with Century Packaging and successfully makes a sale. Dan's thrilled that the waste audit has proved to be a great way to reach more businesses. Later that night, the TC team, competes in a local Trivia night. After some ups and downs, with some critical help from Tony, the team comes in second place. Everyone is happy to welcome Tony as a permanent member of the trivia team. The first Zero Waste boxes with Mylar waste come in from Century Packaging. Dan heads to Design where he shows Tiff the new material, sparking her excitement about the upcycling potential of this new waste stream.
