Hunter and McCall are protecting a man who's going to testify against a mobster. They share the duty with two other cops. The mobster gets to one of the cops and gets him to kill the witness. He does it by using his partner's drinking to get him out of the room so he can do it. And also takes advantage of McCall leaving Hunter alone to throw suspicion on him.
