Elin works as nurse and has often quarrels with her boss: so she decides to give up.At the home she hopes that her boyfriend will propose her to marry with him: there was no proposal ,so she fires him.Now she wants to go out of Stockholm and accepts to be the caretaker of a retired doctor in Trosa. Since the death of his wife Ingmar stays in a wheel-chair , is very bad bad-tempered and spends his time observing at his son Claas who manages now the clinic where Ingmar worked for many year.The first contacts between Elin and Ingmar are quite tense. The other son of Ingmar, Joern, a composer, has come to the family house with his girlfriend to find the necessary inspiration for a new hit.Little by little Ingmar and Elin understand each other better.Elin has good relations with Claas and his wife and finally Elin begins to help Joern for the new song.
