Unable herself to return Matti Olson's love, Anna can't suffer Sven dating clients and sets up her best friend Sophie Lagerbeck to date him, which requires minute coaching but satisfies nobody. Meanwhile her father Carl Lund, a grumpy stickler, constantly clashes mildly with his chaotic hippie 'artist' neighbor Lotta Nyberg, yet adversity brings them together.
