Photo cameras became a common thing, and many photographers started using them for the printed press. In Brazil, newspaper groups felt the need to create special training courses for them - one of whom was Joel Maia. How the change took place, from amateur to professional photo journalism, is shown by Ana Carolina Fernandes, a photo journalist focused on the social and humanitarian issues and social conflicts of Brazil.
