He tells her that he will first send Tatya Tope to Jhansi to examine its state. Lachchu, Sakhu and Janki plot with Moti not to let Gangadhar marry Manu. The 'vaidya' diagnoses Gangadhar with black fever. Vaidya says anyone, who applies the ointment, will get the fever. Motibai agrees to apply it. Manu gets Gangadhar's necklace as a gift. Lachchu tells Motibai to bear an heir.
