After the role of Lomonosov was given to another actor, Pavel decides to take on another significant role-Chekhov. Derevyanko believes he can gain critical acclaim for a serious dramatic portrayal. Just as filming begins on the film about Anton Pavlovich, it turns out that the playwright's great-granddaughter, Margarita Vasilevna, lives in Taganrog and forbids the film's production.
