On the last evening of the 1980s, national television station Danmarks Radio broadcasts a large New Year's show. Kim Schumacher is hosting the festivities, because he has become popular as the whole nation's cheeky TV darling. But for the auditions the day before, Kim Schumacher wears black and hides in a wardrobe in the cloakroom. Jarl Friis-Mikkelsen stays behind and tries to get him to come out. Eventually succeeding, Kim Schumacher subsequently confides his fatal secret to Jarl.
