Moscow, 1996. A celebratory party celebrating the sixtieth birthday of former KGB general and now successful businessman Andrey Vladimirovich Gradov ends in a bloodbath. Andrey's eldest son, Platon, is late for the celebration and therefore survives. Arriving at his father's country house, he sees a horrific scene: corpses everywhere, including his father. Platon searches the house and finds his half-brothers, Vanya and Kolya, hidden in a large suitcase in the closet. The police arrive and take the children to a special detention center for placement in an orphanage, while Platon is interrogated by investigators. The next morning, Platon arrives at the special detention center and ransoms the brothers from Major Kovaleva. Before they can leave, a group of civilians demands that Kovaleva hand over the children. Platon, Vanya, and Kolya barely escape their pursuers and escape to a safe house. Plato is trying to find out who killed his father and set him and his brothers on a bloody hunt.
