Compo is rejected as one of the veterans to will place a millennial memorial wreath in France, so the women take up a collection to send him with Truly and Clegg. Edie's sister, Ros, moves back into the area. Billy entrusts the care of his carrier pigeon to Truly, Clegg and Compo.
