  • LGR Thrifts [Ep.51] Such 60s & 70s Stuff
    E1
LGR Thrifts [Ep.51] Such 60s & 70s StuffIt's been too long, dang it! But it's been a weird couple years to say the least. Whatever though, let's check some of the usual thrift stores in my area and seeing what kinds of retro tech and random old oddities we can find. Let's go thrifting!
  • Deja View Camwear: Odd 23-Year-Old Camera Glasses
    E2
Deja View Camwear: Odd 23-Year-Old Camera GlassesDiving into the Deja View Camwear 100 from late 2003! Camera glasses aren't all that odd anymore but the way these work fits the bill. A little video camera that connects to a Walkman-like device and only records *after* you see something happen. The goal is to be a head mounted TiVo for instant replays of reality! Or maybe it was about capturing bagel stealing squirrel thieves...
  • $3,000 Laptop from 1988 - The Rebuilt Chaplet Halikan LA-30A
    E3
$3,000 Laptop from 1988 - The Rebuilt Chaplet Halikan LA-30AThis poor broken mess of an 80s laptop has been rebuilt and it's better than ever! The rare Chaplet Halikan LA-30A is an interesting machine on its own, but this one's story of breaking into a thousand pieces and being restored by the talented PolyMatt takes it to another level. His video went into the rebuild process, but this one dives into using the PC itself, its odd quirks, the company behind it, and its small but fascinating place in computer history.
  • 1985 NEC Multisync - A Holy Grail Vintage PC Monitor!
    E4
1985 NEC Multisync - A Holy Grail Vintage PC Monitor!Taking a look at the first Multisync monitor! Not only from NEC but the first one at retail in general, possibly. Introduced in 1985, the JC-1401P3A is ideal for vintage IBM PC compatible computers, but also the Amiga, Macintosh, PC-98 etc! Displays all standard graphics modes, most nonstandard ones, and horizontal sync rates of 15khz, 24khz, 31khz and beyond.
  • At last! New IDE Optical Drive Emulators for Retro PCs
    E5
At last! New IDE Optical Drive Emulators for Retro PCsReview of the ZuluIDE and PicoIDE optical drive emulators! These awesome ODEs can replace your old CD/DVD-ROM drive with a MicroSD card solution for loading ISOs, including support for Redbook CD digital audio! Among other features between the two, like WiFi, virtual hard disks, and Iomega ZIP drive emulation.
  • SimCity Enhanced CD: 1990s Full Motion Video Cheese
    E6
SimCity Enhanced CD: 1990s Full Motion Video CheeseI've covered SimCity on LGR before, but this odd Interplay re-release from 1994 is one I haven't reviewed till now. The "Enhanced" CD-ROM edition with copious amounts of cheesy full motion video! It's both enjoyably silly and unfortunately frustrating. A guilty pleasure indeed.
  • NO MORE STORAGE UNITS.
    E7
NO MORE STORAGE UNITS.Looking at the new LGR warehouse workshop storage building thing! Going over what's been done so far, what comes next, and how I plan to use it for the channel going forward. Thank you so much for your ongoing support, this wouldn't have been possible otherwise!
  • Nerf Arena Blast 27 Years Later: An LGR Retrospective
    E8
Nerf Arena Blast 27 Years Later: An LGR RetrospectiveIt's Unreal Tournament! But softer! Nerf Arena Blast is a classic arena FPS with more than a passing resemblance to UT99. They use the same Unreal engine and were developed alongside each other, but after you get past the "Total Conversion Mod” feel of it, Arena Blast reveals its own distinct and colorful identity. Let's look back at it 27 years later here on LGR!
  • Digisette Duo - Odd Cassette Tape MP3 Player from 2000
    E9
Digisette Duo - Odd Cassette Tape MP3 Player from 2000Retrospective on the Digisette Duo MP3 from the year 2000! A standalone MP3 player built into a compact cassette shell letting you play digital audio through any tape player. And it syncs to a Windows PC using the parallel port! Nifty stuff, and it only gets more interesting from there.
  • Is pinball at home worth it? Star Wars: Fall of the Empire Review
    E10
Is pinball at home worth it? Star Wars: Fall of the Empire ReviewDiving into the world of home pinball thanks to Stern loaning me this review machine! I'm new to this so the video is all from the perspective of a first-timer: receiving and unboxing it, the assembly and setup process, and of course testing it out and learning the gameplay ins and outs. Plus exploring some modern pinball features for the first time, many of which still feel kinda wild to me (Wi-Fi OTA updates, online leaderboards, achievements, etc.)
  • Fixing up the classic 1999 Hewlett-Packard Pavilion PC
    E11
Fixing up the classic 1999 Hewlett-Packard Pavilion PCI feel like every other computer person owned one of these HP Pavilions at some point, these were everywhere in the late 90s and early 2000s! Makes sense considering it cost as low as $149 with rebates. So let's dive into the 6535 model with its 466MHz Intel Celeron and see what else is inside, what's broken or missing, and what needs repair and cleaning and such.
  • Obscure $3,000 Laptop From 1993: Compaq LTE Lite 4/25E
    E12
Obscure $3,000 Laptop From 1993: Compaq LTE Lite 4/25EThis ain't just any old beige 486 computer, this has an active matrix monochrome screen! One of only a handful of laptops that ever had such a thing, which is great since these mono LCDs were normally a blurry mess of sadness. Unfortunately it's not without its issues and it still needs some attention, but it's something I've wanted to discuss on LGR and what better time than now while it still works?
  • The Nintendo 64 Thirty Years Later! An LGR Retrospective
    E13
The Nintendo 64 Thirty Years Later! An LGR RetrospectiveOpening a boxed and unused* N64 that launched in 1996! Nintendo released the system three decades ago now, so its 30th anniversary in 2026 is an ideal time to unbox a 1997 model, ogle those SGI chips, set it all up with a vintage CRT TV, and play some games with that delightfully odd controller.
