Serge and Julienne Machery have bought an old house near Chenonceaux. Serge, a professional photographer, works in Paris but devotes all his weekends to the restoration of his country house. To maintain this passion, Serge and his wife, have put themselves into serious debt. To find funds Serge, who has taken photos of the Château de Chenonceaux, tries to sell them courtesy of his neighbor Germain Messémé, who holds the château shop.
