1849 - 1880 Denmark has not always been a small, happy, rich country. And our prosperity did not come about by itself and must not be taken for granted. In this series, Liv Thomsen gives voice to Underdanmark, the other half, those who lived in the shadows, far from the hard floors and nice bourgeois homes. This time it is about Peter Jørgensen, the Scarecrow of the Poor House, who lived on a poor house for a large part of his unhappy life, together with all the other poor people who could not support themselves, and whom the rest of Denmark regarded with equal parts disgust and fear.
