Holowachuk learns that the Majot's birthday is coming up and he never had a party. He plans a surprise party. But when all of his sneaking around to keep things a secret from the Major, arouses the Major's curiosity the Major asks him to explain himself but he chooses to say nothing. So the Major makes him officer of the day which means he can't attend the party.
